Following a record-breaking season that saw them achieve promotion back to Serie B, Virtus Entella and coach Fabio Gallo have mutually agreed to part ways. The decision was formally announced through a consensual resolution to terminate the existing contract.
The coach, who arrived in Chiavari in September 2023, initially secured the team`s safety on the final matchday before becoming one of the key architects of the magnificent run that led to winning both the Serie C championship and the Supercoppa di Serie C.
“This is a painful decision, both from a human and professional standpoint. Our desire was to continue this journey together,” commented General Manager Matteo Matteazzi.
“In recent weeks, we discussed a multi-year agreement with the coach, but there wasn`t a complete alignment on the development of the project. Our idea was to entrust him with a manager-coach role, with a broad vision integrated into the club`s philosophy and operating methods. On this point, unfortunately, there was a lack of affinity. To the coach, we can only say thank you for the journey undertaken and for immersing himself in our reality with passion, competence, and humanity.”
