Wesley has broken his silence. The Flamengo winger, who has been linked with moves to Juventus and Roma, was interviewed by today`s edition of the Italian newspaper *Gazzetta dello Sport*. Naturally, the topic of transfers came up, with the player discussing his ambition to play in Europe.
“My dream is to play in Europe at least once in my career,” the young player began. “Right now I`m happy in Brazil and focused on Flamengo and this wonderful journey we are on at the Club World Cup. We want to perform well and go as far as possible.”
Brazilian teams have been proving themselves capable of competing with European football standards. Wesley`s current teammates include players who have significant experience in Serie A, such as Alex Sandro and Danilo, who could potentially influence a move to Juventus. Similarly, Gerson, also at Flamengo, might try to convince him to sign for Roma. However, Wesley himself is keen to put these speculations aside, emphasizing that his full attention is on the present competition, the Club World Cup.
“No, I know about the interest from Roma and Juventus,” he stated plainly, “but now is not yet the time to think about the future.”
The race for Wesley`s signature remains open. It remains to be seen who will ultimately succeed in negotiations.
