The AC Milan midfielder, whose potential move to Napoli didn`t materialise, now has the chance to transfer to England.
Yunus Musah has a history with England, having moved there from Italy with his family at age 10 to join Arsenal`s academy. Thirteen years later, a return is possible. Wolverhampton Wanderers are showing interest in the midfielder, and they join Nottingham Forest, who have already made detailed inquiries, among the Premier League clubs considering a move.
Milan, Musah, and Tare
The likelihood of Musah departing AC Milan is significant. His past year has been challenging, and Technical Director Igli Tare`s recent comments were telling. Tare stated, “While I consider Musah an excellent player, we are seeking midfielders with specific attributes for Allegri`s project. We need deep midfielders for a three-man midfield setup, characteristics that Musah, who is more suited to a two-man midfield or an attacking midfield role, doesn`t fully possess.” This suggests Milan sees their future midfield built around players like Fofana and Loftus-Cheek, rather than necessarily Yunus. The key factor now is whether a sufficiently attractive offer materializes.
The Negotiation with Napoli
AC Milan came close to agreeing on a deal with Napoli for Musah`s transfer in June, reportedly for around €25 million including bonuses. While that possibility could resurface later in the summer (July/August), it has currently cooled off. The focus is now on the Premier League. Both Wolverhampton and Nottingham are geographically close (about an hour`s drive apart), suggesting a move to either wouldn`t drastically alter his location.
