De Bruyne joined Napoli on a free transfer in July 2025 after his contract with Manchester City expired. His decision to move to Naples was partly influenced by lifestyle considerations. This pursuit is also intertwined with Galatasaray's efforts to sign AC Milan winger Rafael Leão.
